What is a Group Tour?
A Group Tour is a scheduled travel experience offered on specific dates and open to individual travelers who wish to join others in exploring the culture, history, and communities of Guinea-Bissau together. Group tours follow a pre-planned itinerary and require a minimum number of participants to operate, offering an affordable, community-centered travel experience.

How do I reserve my place on the tour?
To secure your place, complete our online registration form and submit a $250 deposit per person. Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed next steps to prepare for your experience. The remaining balance is due prior to the tour start date.
Are international flights included in the price?
Flights are not included. Travelers are responsible for booking their own round-trip airfare to Bissau. However, we’re happy to offer recommendations on trusted routes and travel tips for first-time visitors to West Africa.

Will I need a visa, and can you help?
Yes, U.S. citizens and most international travelers require a visa to enter Guinea-Bissau. Visa fees are included in your tour package and is available upon arrival.
What is Guinea-Bissau’s vaccination and COVID-19 testing requirements?
At this time, travelers to Guinea-Bissau are required to show proof of yellow fever vaccination. COVID-19 testing or proof of vaccination may also be required, depending on current regulations. We will provide the latest health and travel updates during your booking process and help ensure you meet all entry requirements.

Roots in Guinea Bissau Cultural and Development Initiative is a legally registered 501c3 Nonprofit Organization. Our mission is to unite the descendants of Guinea Bissau in the diaspora. This organization aims to serve as the principal instrument to facilitate the Decade of Return's primary initiative of granting citizenship and aiding individuals that desire to repatriate.
We also aim to promote unity and encourage participation in the development of Guinea Bissau. We encourage those in the diaspora to seek opportunities for growth and development while simultaneously promoting cultural exchange.
Additionally, we aim to raise awareness among all descendants of Guinea-Bissau in the diaspora and provide an avenue for them to contribute to the sociocultural, economic, and diplomatic development of Guinea-Bissau.
Our organization was created to fulfill the Pan African ideals of a united diaspora. We desire to aid in creating conditions where all people with Roots in Guinea Bissau can work assiduously towards contributing to Guinea Bissau’s revitalization and prosperity.
